Bay Area Book Festival UNBOUND Launches May 1

Good news for book festival fans!

Bay Area Book Festival UNBOUND Logo

The Bay Area Book Festival had to cancel its planned in-person festival, yet the organizers have crafted a new gift for the community: #UNBOUND

Here are the when, what, and how from the organizers:

When? #UNBOUND launches the weekend of May 1-3 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday evenings for adults; Saturday and Sunday mornings for children). Programs continue Tuesday, Wednesday (Young Adult), and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings for young children and middle-graders. Plus some Saturday night specials! Most programs are free.

What? #UNBOUND presents notable authors in free, stimulating literary conversations highly relevant for our challenging times. Programs debut on YouTube Premiere with live audience chat, then remain as recordings there and on our site. (Some special ticketed programs include live audience questions to the authors —join our mailing list to find out!)

How? Please register (free) to watch the premiere of each program. You’ll have access to live audience chat, and after registering, you’ll get the direct YouTube Premiere link. Recordings (without chat) then reside on YouTube.

Of particular interest to World Affairs Book Group readers:

  • "Vote At Home" with Amber McReynolds and Jesse Wegman: Friday May 1, at 7:00 p.m.

  • "Unrigging the Rules for the Rising American Electorate" with David Daley and Steve Phillips: Thursday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m.
